Sunflower Creations

As you know by now, we like to spread a little sunshine! And our latest competition is no exception. “Sunflower Creations” was initiated with exactly that in mind - we want to inspire you to set your creative sides free, enjoy both the process and the challenge of creating something, and fill social media with bright, sunflower-themed artwork - all with the incentive of becoming a winner and getting your hands on some fabulous art supplies too!

Sunflowers have become something of a running theme for us at Boxes of Sunshine, largely because these amazing sunshine-yellow flowers were Kirsten’s favourites. Once the charity was up and running, it didn’t take us long to come up with the idea for our Sunflower Club, which has now become an annual staple. Every March, April and May we invite you to join the club by filling in a very quick form on our website, paying £10 for a family pack or £5 for individual membership, and in return we send you a postal pack which includes sweets, badges, flyers, and of course sunflower seeds. And we hope you find joy in sowing your seeds, nurturing your sunflower plants and watching them grow into giants! Indeed, by way of encouragement, we also run a sunflower club growing competition each year, with great prizes to be won. (See our Instagram page for details.)

And if Sunflower Creations turns out to be a hit this year, then it too could become an annual fixture. Let us know if you’re taking part, how your artwork is coming along, and whether or not you think we should run it again next year. If we do run it again next year, should we stick with the sunflower theme, or mix it up? All ideas and suggestions are welcome!
